Thanks to our collaboration with OntarioShores, patients and non-patients have access to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) at our Islington site. This program is FREE for individuals 18 years or older. This partnership is making an impact on mental health in our communities. If you have anxiety or depression, or know someone else who does, we are here to help you get started on the road to a happier and healthier life.

If you think you can benefit from CBT, make an appointment with us. Our social worker will screen you for eligibility and then you may begin your weekly sessions with the therapist.

Email us at info@eknplc.ca or call us at (647) 476-1351.

*Please note: Due to COVID-19, sessions will be conducted online via OTN. If you do not have access to a computer or internet, please contact us.

What is CBT?

CBT, or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, is a common form of evidence-based psychotherapy. It is practical, structured and short-term (usually up to 20 sessions). It focuses on the thoughts, attitudes and beliefs related to your problematic emotional and behavioural reactions. You will learn life-long skills and strategies that you can use to master and manage your own life.

CBT is a collaborative effort between you and the therapist. Yes, in fact there is “homework”. In order to maximize the benefits, you need to put in effort outside of sessions as well!

Watch this four minute video that further discusses how CBT works and hear from some people who benefited from CBT: link here.

Ive been very depresssed and anxious for a long time, and have a really difficult time getting access to a therapist or any kind of emotional support, as I’m not in the eBay financial situation and forking out $100 a session just isn’t viable for me.

Ive been doing a program through couchmd where I’ve been speaking with the same doctor and she is helping me get the help and support I need, and she recommended this program for me to tryout and hopefully someone regular I can speak to

Hello. Unfortunately, our clinic is no longer offering on-site CBT. You are encouraged to visit http://www.ontarioshores.ca to find out more about the program. If you are a patient of our clinic, you may also ask your NP for further guidance. Best wishes.
