Emery Keelesdale Nurse Practitioner Led Clinic (EKNPLC) is recruiting new Board Members. Be a part of a policy-centered Board of Directors which helps the clinic to remain accountable to its stakeholders and goals. If you are an NP interested in sharing your leadership skills or a community member with skills in the area of PR, marketing, financial management and governance, then please submit your interest for this volunteer opportunity.
EKNPLC is the first NP-Led Clinic to open in Toronto and has two locations: Islington, just north of Finch (the main location); and Eglinton at Keele. To meet the needs of our communities, we have also established outreach clinics at LOFT and 1900 Sheppard West (Humewood House) and regularly host workshops at libraries, community centres, places of worship and just about anywhere there is a need for health care. Our objective is to provide primary care to our patients and we place a high value on partnerships with community services, inter-disciplinary health teams and members of the public. We also lead one of the largest home visiting programs in the city – bringing annual physicals, lab tests, prescription medications, cancer screening, checks up, etc. to those who face physical and/or psychiatric barriers to accessing primary health care . Our main location is also home to a bi-weekly food bank (in partnership with Delta Family Resource Centre and North York Community Harvest) which sees approximately 30 people come through our doors.
Our dedicated clinical staff consists of 4 NP’s, an RPN, and RN, a dietitian and social worker – and our admin team works hard in the background. We welcome you to visit the clinic and get to know us in person. We trust you will find a rewarding experience in service of the communities in our catchment and we look forward to all of the passion and knowledge that you can share.
Submit resume and letter of interest to firstname.lastname@example.org Deadline for submissions October 19th
